Monopoly Live was created by Evolution Gaming (of course!). Everyone knows what this name means in the field of Live Casino games and innovation therein.
With Live Dreamcatcher they managed to breathe new life into the dusty Money Wheel. And with Lightning Roulette, they even made play the biggest Roulette haters. The possible 100 x, 250 x or even 500 x multipliers that you can win on Lightning Roulette are irresistible.
CasinoFiser saw Monopoly Live for the first time at the ICE Gaming show in 2019 in London. We were immediately very intrigued by this game. We played different kinds of Monopoly in the past. That’s why we were curious about what Evolution Gaming would do with the concept.
We were not disappointed. Monopoly Live perfectly combines the best and most successful elements of both Live Dreamcatcher and the Monopoly board game.
You can bet on the numbers of the wheel, but you can also bet on the two bonus games. It is also possible to wager money on all options. In addition, the multipliers are not missing, although they come with this game in the form of Chance cards.
How does Live Monopoly Work?
Live Monopoly revolves around a large Money Wheel, which is played by a live host, as well as virtual co-host ‘Mr. Monopoly’
Before turning the wheel, you can bet on where you think the wheel will end.
You can bet on numbers, 2 bonus games (2 throws or 4 throws) or a combination of these.
The minimum bet is only 0.10 NZD and goes up to 500 NZD.
The wheel is then turned, and there are 4 possible options:
- The wheel stops at a number. If you played it, you win the payout. The payout is the same as the number on the segment. If, for example, there is 10, you will be paid 10 x your stake (plus your stake).
- The wheel stops on the Chance card. You now get a cash prize or multiplier + an extra spin.
- The wheel stops on the bonus game with 2 throws
- The wheel stops on the bonus game with 4 throws
The ideal scenario is to take one (or more) multiplier (s) first and then the bonus game with 4 throws.
How are the Prices Distributed on the Wheel?
The wheel has a total of 54 segments. Not every bet has the same winning odds and the same payout percentage.
CasinoFisher listed it for you:
|Opportunity||2||Pay cash or multiplier|
|Bonus with 2 throws||3||93,90%|
|Bonus with 4 throws||1||93,67%|
If you look at the table above, you see that betting on numbers 2 and 10 pays relatively the most.
Betting on the numbers 1 and 5 is not advisable: the house advantage is enormously high here.
The Bonus Game from Monopoly Live
If you have bet on a bonus game and it falls, then that is the starting signal for a very nice bonus feature, which faithfully follows all Monopoly game elements.
You will be taken to a video version of the board game, with all known streets, chance cards, prison, free parking, and tax.
Before the game starts, new houses and hotels will be placed on random streets, which will pay extra.
You can then start playing the old-fashioned dice:
- Land on the street for cash prizes
- Chance cards and General Fund cards can generate cash prizes or taxes
- If you are in jail, you have to double throw within 3 turns to get out
- If you roll twice, you get an extra turn
The further you get on the board, the more the streets are worth.
Mr. Monopoly, in his well-known style, comments on the throws and the payouts.
What does CasinoFisher Think of Monopoly Live?
Evolution Gaming does it again: they know how to make something completely new and exciting from an old concept.
Live Dreamcatcher players will be delighted with the extra bonus options, and true Monopoly enthusiasts will love all elements of the board game that are incorporated into Monopoly Live.
This is a really nice bonus, especially if you manage to throw multiple doubles.
